GMC polls: AAP opens account, Arvind Kejriwal congratulates winner Masuma Begum
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made its debut in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) election after bagging one seat on Sunday. Masuma Begum won from ward No. 42, defeating the nearest BJP rival by a margin of nearly 500 votes. This is the party’s third victory in Assam after it won Lakhimpur and Tinsukia wards in the urban body polls that were held last month.
