Assam: BJP retains Majuli seat by margin of 42,000 votes
The BJP registered a thumping victory in the Majuli by-election in Assam on Thursday. BJP’s Bhuban Gam won by a margin of over 42,000 votes, which was close to the margin by which Sarbananda Sonowal had won in the 2021 assembly election in Majuli (43,192).
